When Grace requested support for her 30th birthday, she had one idea in mind. Whatever was planned, it had to match the energy of Taylor Swift’s song, “August”–the yearning, the florals, the story swapping. Heavy on the TO LIVE FOR THE HOPE OF IT ALL.
Guests were invited for a weekend cabin getaway next to the Summit at Snoqualmie in Snoqualmie, WA. Being in the middle of August at a cabin with a concrete exterior, it was integral to have most activities indoors. Most guests were meeting each other for the first time, so Grace wanted time spent getting to know one another, lounging, eating good food, and easy entry creative activity options.
We made the main event an indoor picnic, with many cozy seating options, dried flowers in vintage bottles, and lace details among stacks of antique books.
The centerpiece of the picnic decor were the two pallets I scored for free off of Facebook Marketplace. I cleared the cobwebs, hosed them down, and sanded the top to avoid splinters. I found different textures, fabrics, and sheets at thrift stores to create a layered look around the pallets (one of them is a shower curtain). My favorite detail was the most darling butterfly serving dishes (found on Buy Nothing!).
We also included some interactive, self led activities during the party: polaroid guest book with butterfly backdrop, DIY air dried clay floral trinket dishes, and coloring book station. Guests freely moved within each area of the party, providing something to do for everyone!
This party is a great example of how Puget Parties takes the interests of the client and designs an event that reflects who they are!
