Evan and Meghan are the couple who truly have a wedding to celebrate their union to each other, NOT the other way around.

Time and time again, both the bride and groom said “Everything will fall into place & it will be okay.” We used that mantra during the surprise snow fall the morning of the rehearsal dinner (also on Friday the 13th!!!), the hail that started the wedding morning, & the St. Patrick’s Day Fun Run blocking off the streets to the venue.
Nevertheless, the clouds parted, the street reopened, and the sun shone through the show stopping wall of windows at the Foss Waterway Seaport entrance, just in time for their 2pm ceremony.
The couples’ wedding theme inspiration was a mix of romantic & bookish/novel mixed with mid century modern touches.
The aisle for the ceremony was donned with silky lavender and sage ribbons tied to end chairs, complimenting the full rose & greenery bouquets and flickering candles. 160 people were in attendance, some traveling in from as far as Texas!
The reception was a mix of cocktail tables and 10 in rounds to accommodate light fare of pizza slices, pieces of pie, and beer & wine. Gold accents were incorporated throughout the day by using flickering candlestick & holders on cocktail tables, a gold embossed Pride & Prejudice for their guest book, and gold-framed signs. In choosing a unique venue such as Foss Waterway Seaport, the couple was able to incorporate museum artifacts such as a boat to hold their gifts and favors.

Making a connection with every guest was a priority for the couple so we worked with the photographer to create a “photo blitz” time during the reception. Guests formed a queue to congratulate the bride and groom & took a photo with them in front of the book wall photo backdrop. Guests also had an opportunity to mingle during the reception, playing “Find the Guest Who…” bingo, and turning their card in for a chance at a raffle prize at the end of the night!
One of my favorite details of their day were the couple’s favors. Guests took home coffee beans from their favorite coffee shop, Tacoma’s own Beware Coffee. Puget Parties designed & printed the “The Perfect Blend” label, scooped the beans, and packaged 180 coffee bean favors. The house still smells amazing!!
The celebration ended with guests using ribbon wands for the couple’s “grand exit.” The boats were moved back into position at the museum as Evan & Meghan sailed away to their new beginning as husband and wife!
